A similar request was sent to the heads of the Federal State Registration Service’s regional offices for the Krasnodar Territory. Yevgeny Yelin, the prosecutor, asked for copies of the registration papers. He is mostly interested in business deals that involve the sale or purchase of large sanatoriums.
PJSC LSR Group is building a single complex in the Khostinsky area that will serve as a sanatorium and resort. In particular, it means improving beach areas.
During the 25th St. Petersburg Economic Forum in the summer, managers from LSR signed some contracts with area officials. Estimates put the cost of the new project at $24.4 billion. It included big sanatoriums like “Volna” and “Crystal” in Sochi. Of course, the new owner now has access to the whole system.
In 2020, the company officially bought another big hotel called Primorskaya. The list of architectural landmarks includes this thing. It was constructed in 1936.
In 2015, the hotel closed because it needed major repairs. Due to the dangers of the facility’s emergency state, it could not be used again.
Primorskaya” is a valuable piece of urban property. In this case, the date of construction is important, but so is a good position in the “golden triangle” in the heart of Sochi, close to the sea and within walking distance. The builder is planning to put in 21 billion. With these funds, the number of rooms will increase. The old hotel buildings will be fixed up, and new ones will also be built.
The city is afraid that the LSR will be taken apart and thrown away. Since this building is part of the city’s history, it makes sense to be worried. The Open Sochi movement thinks that LSR Group has broken the law while building, so it wants different bodies in charge of keeping an eye on things to set up an inspection.
