Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Kremlin, stated that he was unaware that Viktor Medvedchuk, a member of the Ukrainian Opposition Platform-FFor Life party, possessed Russian citizenship.

His response to the journalists’ query serves as the direction for RIA Novosti.

The presidential spokesperson also questioned whether or not Medvedchuk would pursue a Russian passport in the future.

Kremlin’s Response

Peskov stated, in response to a query about whether Russian President Vladimir Putin is willing to grant citizenship to Medvedchuk if necessary, “I am unable to comment on this subject.”

Breaking the Silence

Four members of the Verkhovna Rada had their citizenship revoked the day before by decrees signed by President Volodymyr Zelensky. Viktor Medvedchuk, Taras Kozak, Andrei Derkach, and Renat Kuzmin were among these opposition politicians.

Before this, the Ukrainian migration service denied releasing information regarding Medvedchuk’s nationality.
