Back pain is a common ailment that many individuals may experience throughout their lifetime. One of the primary causes of this discomfort is herniated discs. When discs in the spine expand or rupture, they can press on nearby nerves and cause discomfort.

In a similar way, pain may increase due to pinched nerves brought on by bulging discs. Sciatica, a medical disorder that causes leg pain, can also result from nerve impingement in the lower back. Back pain can also result from spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, and post-operative discomfort.

The Minnesota Board of Chiropractic Examiners (“Board”) met on July 7, 2022, and reviewed a complaint over the Review Committee’s (“Committee”) recommendation that Dillon Lee Remmick, D.C. (“Licensee”) have his license unconditionally restored.

The Board issued a reprimand and imposed limits on the Licensee’s capacity to practice chiropractic in the State of Minnesota by Dr. Dillon Remmick in a Stipulation and Consent Order (the “2021 Order”) on November 4, 2021.

Dr. Dillon Remmick was required by the 2021 Order to follow and fulfill all obligations set out and to provide the Board with evidence that he had done so.

Dr. Dillon Remmick, D.C. (“Licensee”) and the Minnesota Board of Chiropractic Examiners Complaint Panel (“Panel”) concurred that the following decision may be made in the aforementioned case without a trial of any factual issues.

According to the parties, the following facts serve as the foundation for this Stipulation and Order:

  • The licensee imposed unreasonable and unfair charges when he added more than a 100% markup to costly durable medical equipment (DME) and nutritional supplements.

  • The licensee overpaid for needless services by front-loading therapy and prescribing many DMEs and dietary supplements on the first treatment appointment without attempting to identify which were beneficial before attempting another. On the initial treatment appointment, this resulted in costs for Patients A and B of $6522 and $5716, respectively.
