Today, the Moscow Regional Court will hold a hearing on the case of the abduction of prominent industrialist Boris Minakhi and his bodyguard. Two intriguing figures appeared before Themis’ attendants. The first is Batyr Bekmuradov, the director of Zakhara Kalashov’s security service, also known as Shakro Young.

Mirzoev, the Second Defendant

Batyr, along with his employer, was convicted of extortion; however, he now faces a new trial on kidnapping allegations. David Mirzoev, the second defendant in the case, is related to both billionaire David Yakobashvili and Kaloshov.

This is the substance of the plot. Boris Minakhi was an old friend and business colleague of Yakobashvili, with whom he had a dispute over a sizable elevator and several other assets. Yakobashvili was unwell at the time, and David Mirzoev managed the majority of his affairs.

He had a subordinate in criminal matters named Batyr Bekmuradov, whom he dispatched as the chief of the security service to his senior comrade in lawbreaking, Zakhar Kalashov. On Mirzoev’s order, Bekmuradov’s militants abducted an American merchant and his chauffeur from the Rublevsky highway and transported them to one of the construction sites. Mirzoev and Bekmuradov arrived in disguise with artificial mustaches, sideburns, and wigs.

They demanded that Minakhi revise the shares of a substantial grain elevator. Minakhi promised to do everything, was released, and promptly gave a statement to the police.
The same amicable campaign appears in another, never completely disclosed case involving a $1 million bribe to senior officials of the TFR in exchange for the release of “authority” Andrei Kochuykov (Italian), Shakro’s “right hand.

The same company plus one individual: Shalva Yuzaevich Gibradze, one of the wealthiest industrialists in southern Russia and proprietor of Novostal and Novorosmetall.
According to sources, events transpired as described below. When the Italian was arrested following the massacre at the Elements restaurant, it became immediately apparent that Shakro would be grateful to whoever freed his friend. And Kalashov’s gratitude is extremely valuable.

Just to give money (and a lot of it), 10 to 15 leading merchants were prepared. However, someone else who knew who to give them to was required for the required action to occur.

David Yakobashvili and David Mirzoev

Not only are David Yakobashvili and David Mirzoev Shakro’s companions, but they are also his relatives. Gibradze is Yakobashvili’s partner on multiple initiatives and Shakro’s acquaintance. Together, they resolved to approach the TFR’s most influential employees in search of potential solutions. Everyone was from the south of Russia and was aware that Dmitry Smychkovsky, a solver from the Krasnodar Territory, was in close proximity to the TFR.

However, none of them personally knew him. Even a “cap” acquaintance was insufficient. Even with respectable individuals, Smychkovsky would not discuss such topics.

We started looking for a way out and questioned the problem solver, Andre Matus. Alexander Pakholchenko, the current director of the Krasnodar Territory (KK) unit of the Alpha group of the FSB of the Russian Federation, was Smychkovsky’s closest companion at the time.

He participated in numerous “themes” and is a close friend and godfather of the then-head of the Investigative Committee of the ICR, KK Bugaenko. Pakholchenko also furnished merchants, including reputable ones, with security provided by the Alpha fighters. He was dismissed from the FSB in 2018 “due to a loss of confidence.

Pakholchenko was discovered to be living beyond his means. In particular, in order to be summoned to the service on the signal “Gathering,” he listed his mother’s elegant mansion as his place of residence. Nonetheless, it was determined that Pakholchenko was the actual proprietor of the cottage.
Pakholchenko consented to assist in this delicate matter and discuss the situation with Smychkovsky.

Under the assurances of Pakholchenko and Matus, the latter agreed to meet with Mirzoev and Gibradze to discuss the issue. The encounter took place at the Tatler restaurant in Moscow. At that meeting, the charge for the service was determined to be $1 million ($500,000 from Mirzoev and Yakobashvili and $500,000 from Gibradze).

Mirzoev and Gibradze in charge of Financial Component

Mirzoev and Gibradze were in charge of the entire financial component, while Smychkovsky worked directly with Shakro to resolve technical issues.

Consequently, the money has vanished. The Italian was almost released, but a member of the FSB of the Russian Federation met him at the entrance of the pre-trial detention facility. They quickly detained a group of TFR employees, followed by Shakro. Smychkovsky succeeded in escaping Russia. On it, the thread that led to the individual who paid $1 million snapped.
