Who is Eric Weinberger?

Eric Weinberger became president of Bill Simmons Media Group, which includes The Ringer and a number of podcasts, in November 2015, the same year Bill Simmons left ESPNEric. Eric Weinberger, president, executive producer, and award-winning storyteller claims to be dedicated to his career to covering live athletic events and crafting big-screen entertainment you’ve most likely seen. From Super Bowls and World Series games to HBO’s breakthrough documentary Andre the Giant and Game of Thrones aftershow After the Thrones, the media executive has been a vital element of the sports and entertainment programming industry for 25 years—and counting.

Eric Weinberger is now the President of Bleav Network (pronounced belief), a sports and entertainment audio and video content network with hundreds of shows syndicated by Bally Sports, Stadium, TuneIn, Sirius, Spotify, and others. The network is known for producing daily, relevant sports and entertainment discussions and chat shows featuring over 150 retired players. The #1 content network for professionals and ardent fans, according to the Bleav website, boasts 500 shows, 800 hosts, and a combined 40 million followers. Eric Weinberger claims to be in charge of all content development, distribution, and sales, as well as new business and talent recruitment for the omnichannel production company.

The Ringer’s president, Eric Weinberger, has resigned in the wake of sexual harassment claims.

The Ringer, the Bill Simmons Media Group’s flagship website, issued a statement on Tuesday morning confirming the “indefinite” suspension of Eric Weinberger, the organization’s president, in the wake of sexual misconduct claims.

Eric Weinberger is named in a complaint filed against NFL Enterprises in Los Angeles Superior Court by Jami Cantor, a former NFL Network staffer. Cantor claims she was sexually harassed by on-air talents such as ex-NFL players Marshall Faulk, Donovan McNabb, Ike Taylor, and Heath Evans while working as a stylist at the network. Faulk, Taylor, and Evans have all been suspended by the NFL Network.

Eric Weinberger began working for The Ringer in November 2015. Many of those cited in the initial case, including NFL Network CEO Dan Dieffenbach and ESPN analysts Eric Davis and Donovan McNabb (who worked for NFL Network during the time period referenced in the lawsuit), have since lost their jobs. There has been no update on the job circumstances of current NFL Network commentators Heath Evans, Marshall Faulk, and Ike Taylor, who were all suspended when the case was made public.

Cantor claims that “throughout” her employment with the NFL, which began in 2006, she was subjected to “ongoing and continual sexual harassment.” A copy of the lawsuit was published by Deadspin on Tuesday morning.

Eric Weinberger, as claimed by her, was one of the culprits. He “sent several nude pictures” to Cantor as an executive producer at NFL Network, she claims. Eric Weinberger is also accused of sending “sexually explicit texts” to Cantor, according to the lawsuit. She mentioned that Eric Weinberger said that she was put on this earth to please me,” as per the passage.

The Ringer said it had placed Weinberger on indefinite leave.

According to the spokesperson– These are very serious and disturbing allegations that we were made aware of today,” a spokesperson told Kevin Draper of The New York Times. “We are placing Eric on leave indefinitely until we have a better understanding of what transpired during his time at the NFL, and we will conduct our own internal investigation.”

As per the statement by Simmon- “I can’t wait to start working with Eric,” Simmons said in a statement. “He’s a talented guy with an impeccable reputation, someone who is uniquely equipped to help me build an innovative multi-media company from scratch. We’re both beyond excited to start brainstorming about my show and other HBO Sports projects as well. I know from experience that you’re only as good as the people around you, and Eric is one of the very best.

What is sexual misconduct?

Sexual misconduct is misconduct of a sexual nature that exists on a spectrum that may include a broad range of sexual behaviors considered unwelcome. This includes conduct considered inappropriate on an individual or societal basis of morality, sexual harassment, and/or criminal sexual assault.

Eric Weinberger, the disgraced former NFL Network and Ringer executive, wants to return to the game.

Eric Weinberger, who was forced to resign as president of The Ringer last year after being accused of many instances of gross sexual misconduct while an executive at NFL Network, is trying to return to the media. Eric Weinberger announced today, via a press release, the formation of a suitably called production firm, EW Productions.

Though Eric Weinberger has never publicly commented on, explained, or apologized for his alleged behavior, which included pressing his crotch into her and telling her to “touch it,” sending her inappropriate photos, and telling her she was “put on earth to pleasure him,” he would like everyone to know he’s back and ready to make money in the sports media and television business.

Concluding with defining the punishments involved with Sexual Misconduct

The penalties for sexual assault vary greatly based on the state statute in question. Sexual misconduct is a misdemeanor in several states and can result in jail time, probation, or fines. When the wrongdoing is extremely egregious, or if the person is a repeat offender, a felony charge and additional jail term may be levied. Furthermore, a conviction for sexual misbehavior might result in being listed on a sex offender registry, which can limit future employment chances.

When sexual misconduct is accused as a result of an abuse of authority, a defendant may lose his or her employment and be barred from ever holding a similar position again. Thus, for instance, teachers or physicians found guilty of sexual misconduct with a student or patient may lose their professional licenses as a result of their illegal actions.
